Something has stirred inside me, deep in my gut. As I write at a local café in Xochimilco, I look up across the street at the women's prison, Centro Femenil, and I feel an immense amount of sadness. Being here in Mexico, meeting activists and hearing their stories, and learning about the horrific realities has changed my feminism.

When I turned 27 last November I vowed to myself and the world, via social media, that this would be my year to be: fearless, but not flawless.
